I work with and know many models, and above all Sarah DeAnna has the stunning beauty, the mental strength, the intelligence, and—most importantly—the heart of a supermodel. The fashion industry frequently gets blamed for being the root cause of eating disorders. However, models such as Sarah DeAnna who are perfect models of health— physically, mentally, and spiritually—are “super role models” for our society. This is not another redundant health-and-fitness/weight-loss book that encourages fanatic dieting and exercising. In Supermodel YOU, Sarah writes with honestly and love, generously sharing with the world her secrets to achieving one’s dream body!
— Brenda Vongova ,United Nations Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs, supermodel trainer, and founder of the Vongova Bodylift Method
You can be a supermodel. Yes, YOU! It is all about attitude, self-image, and taking care of yourself. Supermodel YOU will show you how to be kind, respectful, and loving to the person who deserves it the most . . . YOU. You only have one body and one mind. Treat yourself right. Treat yourself like a supermodel.
Author and supermodel Sarah DeAnna is beautiful inside and out.
It didn’t just happen by itself. Sarah rolled up her sleeves, got busy, and is making an impact on the world. One of the reasons Supermodel YOU is inspirational is that Sarah knows of what she speaks. She’s been there, done that. Sarah wasn’t just handed the life of a supermodel. Sarah’s book will help you bring out the supermodel in YOU. Beauty is a billion-dollar business, and models are the benchmark of beauty. Sure, not every woman can be 5’11” and wear a size 2, but every woman can be the best they can be. This is the message Supermodel YOU invokes.
As a filmmaker and former model, I’ve seen firsthand the casualties of those who didn’t take care of themselves. Those were the ones with short-lived careers. When people stereotype fashion models, they think of eating disorders, drug abuse, smokers, spoiled brats, and egg-fragile egos. Sarah debunks this generalization and illustrates that models who have longevity in the beauty business take care of themselves both mentally and physically.
Sarah has discovered Five Keys to channel your inner supermodel. She has given us a valuable gift with Supermodel YOU. Don’t throw it away. No more excuses. No more low self-esteem. It’s time to be proactive. It’s time for YOU to actually take charge of your life and not just talk about it. It time to own your beauty and nourish it. It’s time for YOU to be beautiful, sexy, smart, and happy. It’s time for YOU to become your own supermodel. Yes . . . YOU!

— Julia Lescova, supermodel, Guess? Girl, and Model of the World winner
Supermodel YOU is a book about women being able to gain full control over their own destiny. In a clear, simple, and engaging style, Sarah DeAnna lays the foundation of how to attain what we social scientists call self-regulation, self-control, or self-actualization. These concepts do not imply “control of the self,” for instance, as if the self was “out of control”; rather, they designate the processes human beings recruit when they exert free will in order to become all that they can be.
Sarah’s inspiring message is that all women can become their ideal inner and outer selves by following five key principles that include stress management, varied physical activities, and intelligent eating. She posits that the prerequisite—the very first key principle—for any positive change to occur is self-awareness. Indeed, how can one seek self-improvement if one is oblivious to what needs improvement to start with?
Self-awareness precisely represents my main research area. I am very impressed by Sarah’s articulate view of the self-awareness process, which I find to be totally consistent with our current scientific knowledge. Giants in psychology have extensively written on self-awareness and self-control—Albert Bandura and Roy Baumeister come to mind. They, too, suggest that a constant and careful monitoring of the self constitutes the first step in self-change, and this idea has received objective support from numerous scientific studies.
In my view, only Sarah DeAnna could have written this enlightening book dedicated to giving women more power to themselves. First, she is a high- fashion model! Sarah thus provides the reader with tons of colorful examples of how real models successfully set, attain, and maintain personal and professional goals. Second, Sarah possesses this intuitive knowledge of how self-awareness represents the key process that allows models to orchestrate all aspects of their lives (such as eating and exercising) in the most efficient way possible. This key process actually applies to all women and human beings, not just models; Sarah makes this point amply clear, and it most certainly represents the main—very positive—message of her book.
Sarah DeAnna’s goal is to empower women not to become mindless beauties but self-intelligent creators of their own lives.
— Alain Morin, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, Mount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Sarah DeAnna’s story will touch your heart! It will inspire you and motivate you toward the joy of taking better care of yourself. This book is a toolbox for the well-being of the best model of you!
— Agapi Stassinopoulos, best-selling author of Unbinding the Heart
Gandhi once said, “Strength does not come from physical capacity.
It comes from an indomitable will.” This quote perfectly describes the young girl from Oregon who once sat in my office and told me she would like to be somebody, and help other people realize they were somebody, too. Inward acheivements change outer reality. You go, girl!
— Nicole Bordeaux, founder/owner of PhotoGenics Media
Sarah DeAnna’s book is a compassionate and deeply personal guide
to waking the spirit within the body. It seeks to engage the “five essential intelligences”—physical, mental, emotional, moral, and spiritual. It provides powerful yet simple ways to fully engage each level and pay attention to our bodies’ unique patterns, achieving the benefits of expressing our full potential. Sarah demonstrates that when we wake up fully in our bodies and harmonize all five layers, we discover a result that is more than the sum of the parts: we fall deeply in love with being alive and fully present. This book is a warm, funny, encouraging, compassionate, and deeply personal guide to waking every fiber of your body and being.
— Guru Mirumi, Ph.D., member of the Association for Psychological Science
Supermodel YOU is your guide to feeling better, looking better,
and being your best “supermodel” self. Sarah DeAnna takes us inside the modeling world and teaches us how to eat like, walk like, and think like a supermodel. With humor, straight talk, and illuminating examples, Sarah lets us in on the secrets the supermodels know. I loved Supermodel YOU. If you want to be your best self, reading this book will be time well spent.
